Brief History | This breed was believed to have originated in Holland in the 1880's. The first variety was chocolate, and its thought because the coloring was similar to a Havana Cigar that it was named after them. They were brought to the United States around 1916. Blues were introduced in 1965, followed by black in 1980. |
