Holland Lop Park Show
Today we went to a show near Lansing Michigan. It was the first time I had been to a show in a park. The host club (Holland Lop Express) rented a pavilion at the park. As you can probably guess, this was a holland lops only show. In fact it was a double show. We were [...]

BlueBerry x Skor Day 46
Two of them will be going to good home at the end of the month. I am holding on to 2 of them to evaluate their potential. Also, I am renaming them due to the reason that my wife dislikes me naming our pets after humans and one of their new owners found it distasteful for [...]

MAD and I competing in Round Robin (Master Showmanship) on Friday of County Fair. Last year I lost by 5 points, this year it was 3. oh well :D Either way this picture made the city paper... Photo of www.thedailycourier.com Every good hearted breeder, atleast once in their years of raising rabbits, have come across those "special" bunnies that are extra hard to part with. I've parted with many that I regret [Venice, Dean, Sugar, Snuggles... just to name a few] but they all passed through my b...

Plump Mo
Found both Charl & Mo on the wire this morning. Apparently they managed to wiggle out of the nest box. Their sizes are still comparably different and I spotted a huge tummy on Mo. I could almost recognize the tummy which I have seen on Susie’s blog and it was the same one that I [...]

Updates, where is the summer going?
Okay, lets see. First off, we wanted to write blogs bi-weekly or daily.. That just is not happening. You are lucky to be reading a blog at all from me this month LOL!Life has been insanely busy. We have cut down to 50 rabbits, actually less then that as we haven't weaned the juniors yet so the rabbit barn is very empty and it feels great!!I think we have around 40 cages w/rabbits and then approx 10 empty but maybe not quite that many. We maybe cut down a bit too much... But we shall see we ha...

There is no guarantee in LIFE
Every now and then, DEATH seemed to be knocking on our doors. It hits you when you least expect it. This is very true with us humans and as for rabbits as well. Many of the rabbit deaths that I have encountered has indeed caught me by surprise. Often time, they have left me wondering if [...]

Black or Seal?
I recently had a baby I swore up and down was a black! It's mother was black, it's father was seal, but this little buck had no ruby cast to the eye.The genotype for a black (the mother) is aa B- C- D- E-The genotype for the seal father of the baby is aa B- CchlCchl D- E-So you see- both black and seal were entirely possible for the baby.As a show approached, I began to doubt that this guy I'd held on to for so long BECAUSE he was a black ( I have an older, full brother who is a siamese...

Still growing like crazy!
The pumpkin is still growing like crazy, it is now well over 300 pounds. The picture really doesn't do it justice, it's much more impressive a sight in person. Still, it's behind where it should be. I think the cool nights we've been having, in the 50's, are slowing it down. If it doesn't warm up soon, I am going to try using a blanket and hot water bottles at night. Where is global warming when you need it? Below are also pics of an Aunt Ruby's German Green (green when ripe and yummy!) tomat...
