Mr. Usakowski,
Thank you for this article i agree with every thing in this if people simply understand these tips it would help them expecially the CULL CULL CULL people need to realize that this is the key to a good breeding program. Also keeping the lines tight is a must i know i had some gret cinnamons and i bought a new buck and he completly messed everything up so i culled him and went back to my old lines and things couldnt be better.

I have a friend that SWEARS by coloring the ear with a yellow highlighter before using the pen tat. It always seemed bizarre to me, but I can definitely say my tattoos fade away and his stay firmly in the ears!

I have 2 does that have vent disease. Before I noticed they had it they were housed with another doe who isnt showing signs of having vent disease. I was wondering if the disease could be passed through the does scratching or biting each other?

Thanks for posting this. We think education is such an important part of responsible rabbit ownership. Programs like 4H can help foster a sense of what being responsible, doing the right things the right way and ensuring the health of animals and others is about. Kudos on the participation and leadership exhibited.

Blessings.

We prefer not to give medications junior rabbits unless a absolute emergency. Their digestive systems are just too sensitive. I would suggest contacting a vet for their recommendations.

We have a six week old baby with vent disease, contracted through mom after breeding to another breeder's buck. Can we use penicllin procaine g with such small bunnies? They're all about 1 lb, 6 oz. Do the treatment ratios stay the same?

Thanks.
