Legal Documents to Include on Your Website – #3

We’ve mentioned the Privacy Policy and the Terms and Conditions of Use that should be included on your website. There’s one other legal item we recommend. Again this is something we have had on our website since the beginning.

You need a copyright notice. We include this on everyone of our blog posts. Despite that we have still had people misuse images and posts from our site. We also include it on our home page.

Although this doesn’t prevent someone from plagerizing your information, it at least makes it clear to the visitor that it is your information. The Copyright Notice also explains to the visitor how they can go about using the information you have on the site. Below is our very simple copyright:

Any redistribution or reproduction of part or all of the contents in any form is prohibited other than the following:

3. You may not, except with our express written permission, distribute or commercially exploit the content. Nor may you transmit it or store it in any other website or other form of electronic retrieval system.
