Michigan State 4H Show

This weekend was the state 4H show here in Michigan, and we had a great time. Our youngest daughter always compares her winnings to her oldest sisters. The problem is because she is younger she doesn’t have as many rabbits to place as well as her older sisters. Well Saturday, she got a B.O.S. with her jersey wooly Prince Bunnyhop (aka, Baby Blue’s Butter Pecan). Along with that came a very nice trophy. Needless to say she was very, very excited.

The holland lops were judged by David Moll. David is a registrar and has a goal of becoming a judge. I have to say if his judging at this show is any indication of what he will be like in the future, David, will be an excellent judge. In fact the holland lop picked as best of breed went on to win best 4 class and best of show!

We also got to talk to Chris and Willis Plank. They are a joy to be around. Chris mentioned the many hours that Willis put in at the 84th ARBA convention, including a couple of sleepless nights, working to get it all ready. This was our first convention, and we were so excited about that one, that we are going in 2008 as well.

The girls finished up a long day by attending the MSRBA Youth meeting. Congratulations to all the new officer holders and committee members. It was nice to just sit down and eat a few fries, just me and Cathie, while they were in the meeting. Wish they had meetings every show :)
