Brief History | The history of the american fuzzy lop is intertwined with that of the holland lop. Hollands were originally a solid colored animal. To get broken hollands they were bred with English Spots. However, this caused the offsprings to have flyback instead of rollback fur. To correct the flyback fur they were then bred to Angoras, and thus the wool gene was introduced into hollands. Two hollands carrying this recessive "fuzzy" gene could then produce a fuzzy holland. |
