TLL Reaching New Heights
Well this might only last a couple of weeks, but we were pretty excited about some news regarding the girls. The NJWRC and MSYRBA have posted their sweepstakes and herdman standings. NJWRC The girls are #1 in herdsman points in the country! They are also #1 in sweepstakes in the country. Thats quite an accomplishment. We’ve been striving to be [...]

First Time We?ve Seen This
This  Saturday was a single show in Marshall, MI. I prefer doubles, since we travel a ways to get to the show. I thought we might get done real early. Jersey Woolies and Holland Lops were up first! We were done judging by 10:00am. Winning best of breed for jersey meant staying until the end. [...]

New Litters & rearranging barns
We have been needing to move our stainless steel until from outside into the lower barn (Dwarf barn as I call it). Also, I wanted to move our large 3 hole hutch, as it had sprung a leak at the join in one of the top corners. So it needed to be moved as well. So, with the help of our Uncle and his friend, the 3 of us managed to get both units moved into the other barn, and levelled. It may seem like an easy enough job, but it took hrs. Between leveling the floor as much as we could (it's a dir...

Hanging Out in the House
I brought in a little blue junior buck. He's living in the house because of a severe loss of condition- I think he was targeted for harassment by the vermin population. I know I often found his food spoiled, and had tried to give him small amounts throughout the day that he could eat more quickly.Instead, he started not eating and he withdrew to the back of his cage, only running forward when I had the door open. Otherwise, he looked scared to death. SO, Tar Heel got to come inside for a...

Day 32: Thankful
Whenever I loose a litter of kits, looking at successful litters do give me the motivation to keep on working with this breed. Mooruku and Papadoom has grown so much now. In another 2 weeks they will be weaned off mommy’s milk. Mooruku wasn’t too cooperative posing for me this evening. Nonetheless, here they are: Posted [...]

I like what I have! Other people like what I have! Animals I've sold out of state are doing very well! Locally however, it's just not going well. Believe me when I say,...

Meadow Haven = Area 51
Holland Lops – the most difficult breed to raise. I must agree and I am not ashamed to say that I have seen it all. In the span of just a few months, I have seen the worsts of Holland Lops in terms of breeding. I do not enjoy the deaths involved but I definitely [...]

Netherland Dwarf Rabbits
I secretly have a pair of Netherland Dwarfs. I just picked up this Broken Chestnut buck this past weekend from Chris and Mariah of C&M Rabbitry. They were extremely helpful and friendly, and am very happy with my purchase!I saw this buck in the cage even before I saw his sale tag. Oh he was sold. I had to call my mom before she left home to bring some of my money, LOL!I have yet to name him, he is molting his head, but I still think he is going to be very handsome, thank you Mariah and Chris! ...

I'm so broke!!
So, we went a little crazy with Convention and pre-purchased 5 rabbits. Between the rabbits all going that were sold that had all been paid for, and transport paid for but I'm not very good at keeping things seperate so it was all a big "swoop" of money coming out of my bank account at once. And with the rabbits coming back they had to have transport paid for. So when it was all said and done it was over $400 for transport, plus another $700 in rabbits. That hurt!I don't know about everyone e...

I guess I did pretty well considering the coats on the bunnies- my little chestnut junior buck won group in show A (he's still a baby) and my junior doe Sunset took BOSG. That was really about it for me. I just have to remind myself that...
