A Jersey Wooly is NOT a Netherland Dwarf with Wool
Perception is so important in many facets of life. Subjective matters often take on a certain personality of their own because of such perceptions. Judging is one of those matters. A judges perception of a breed can affect how that breed is judged even though it may be inconsistent with the breed standard. I like [...]

TLL Reaching New Heights
Well this might only last a couple of weeks, but we were pretty excited about some news regarding the girls. The NJWRC and MSYRBA have posted their sweepstakes and herdman standings. NJWRC The girls are #1 in herdsman points in the country! They are also #1 in sweepstakes in the country. Thats quite an accomplishment. We’ve been striving to be [...]

My Surprise- Revealed!
My surprise is finally here! A BEW Himi! :POk, obviously I'm kidding. Meet Journey, my BEW Netherland Dwarf Buck. Thank you SO MUCH to Dennie, Susan & Gary, and Lory Ann for helping this beautiful little guy come live with me sooner than expected! :).So, you're wondering why I have a BEW ND, right? I suspected you might be. Would you believe that I'm going to sell out the Jersey Woolies and concentrate on their wool-less counterparts? No? I didn't think you'd buy that. That leaves anot...

Some updates
With Cristina gone who is the normal blog reporter I thought I had better write something to show we are alive this week :- )I am sure Cristina is suffering the bunny blues right now not having any animals where she is at for 3 weeks. I can say her cats and rabbits really miss her. Oh, and the dogs too but she finds them a bit annoying LOL!I am on my way out the door to go clean the big barn and go through rabbits today. We have lots of Mini rex juniors available as well as we still have a fe...

If I Were An Activist
I’ll try my best to write so that this post can be sang to the tunes of Beyonce’s “If I Were A Boy”. Here goes…. If I were an Activist, I would just kill myself, Coz even all veges are alive, Not screaming doesn’t mean it’s enjoyin’, Every minute on the chop board… If I were an Activist, I will live a [...]

Yabba-Bunna-Dabba-DoooOoooo
Since using the funkadelic and retro background, I have been thinking of colors. I decided to give the kits their names and was looking for a TV program that has 4 characters in which 2 are boys and 2 are girls. I finally settle for… Filed under: In The Nestbox Tagged: Holland Lops, pets, rabbits, Tru-Luv [...]

Breeding!
I'm so in love with this weather. It's nice and warm, the bunnies are happy and best of all- the does are in the MOOD!I got another holland doe bred today and I'm probably going to head out in a few minutes and try a few wooly does too. It's hard to decide who to breed to who- I feel like I have a strong set of bucks. I've learned the value of doing my most important breedings first. I lost Wooligans Little Mama while she was pregnant with her second litter. Thankfully, she was bred to Try...

Binky Free GC L&R Breelynn
GC L&R Breelynn is one name to remember in the Holland Lop circle. She is the #1 Broken Senior Doe at ARBA Convention ‘09. Bred by Linda & Ron Jinnings and owned by Jennifer Harris, Breelynn is sorely missed by all of us that have came to know her. It is a sad day for me [...]

11 days until Home!
My oh my am I exhausted! School has just ripped me apart these last few weeks, combined with work and all of my other activities when next Thursday evening rolls around there will be reason to celebrate! I am most definitely excited for a break, and not ready to start another 10 weeks, even though it will be a very good 10 weeks (I hope!). I am starting my new job (working at the university meat center) as a TA for 3 classes and working regularly the other 3 days of the week. I am done lambin...

Lop For The Sake Of Lopping
It’s been a while since I write long ramblings and I just read a post in the local forum that basically pushed my patience to the brink of explosion. It just goes to show that no matter how much it is discussed in an open forum, words are mere words and can never penetrate thick [...]

More Sadness
I had another doe produce a dead litter- rather, it was a live litter that froze due to insufficient nesting. The good news is it was a doe I badly needed to get started, so at least she's started now and she's still showable because she didn't pull a lot of wool. It's been a dismal winter for breeding. A ton of does have not kindled, have kindled dead litters and of those alive, 4 of the 7 babies are going to be pointed whites- which I'd rather not deal with and am working on weeding out.So...

Sadness
Wow, a sad day in the rabbitry.WWR Rice Ball tanked her very first litter and scattered four babies across the wire. Tim found 3 on the ground and one in another rabbit's cage. *sigh*Next, KLC's Pick of the Litter turned out to be a FUZZY HOLLAND! Gar, he's going to be for sale. He's a beautiful broken siamese sable buck and I've "affectionally" named him SunofaBeach because I'm upset he sprouted wool lol.My Nationals sales animals are almost all spoken for- which is another sadness. They...
